Parish Cluster News
This Wednesday, we enter the season of Lent, a time of fasting, giving and prayer. As you ponder the ways to use this time to grow spiritually, remember:
People over 60, pregnant or nursing women, and children under 14 are not obligated to fast, nor to abstain from meat.
All persons ages 16-59 are bound by the law of fasting on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday.
"Fasting" for a Catholic Christian entails two small, light snacks and one full meal - all without meat. Parents are to ensure that their children are taught the true meaning of penance.
-New Meeting– His & Hers group of Al-Anon & AA closed meetings will be at St. Thomas on Mondays at 7:30pm. Parking will be on the west side. For more information, call Tom at 515-408-8660.
-Our collection on Ash Wednesday is for the Church in Central and Eastern Europe and will be used to meet the needs of rebuilding the Church & renewing programs of catechesis & evangelization. The collection for next Sunday is for the Catholic Home Missions, who supports seminarian formation in poor dioceses. Your support is appreciated.
